APT39F60J Application Field and Working PrincipleAPT39F60J, produced by Advanced Power Electronics Corp., is a N-Channel Enhancement Mode Field Effect Transistor (FET). It is a type of single MOSFET which is used in the control of the power switch in many electronic applications.APT39F60J uses very low on-state resistance at extremely low gate-to-source voltages, with very low gate-source capacitance and with lower total gate charge. It is a low rDS(on) device, with a fast switching speed and low Qg, making it ideal for use in power switch applications. In addition, APT39F60J has a high tolerance of avalanche stress and pulse durations.APT39F60J is suitable for use in switching power supplies, DC-DC converters and other power electronics equipment. It is also suitable for operation in industrial applications like relay drivers and lamps.The operation of an APT39F60J MOSFET can be described as a three-port device which controls the flow of electrons between the drain, source and gate terminals. The operation of the device can be further divided into three modes of operation.The first mode is the OFF mode. In this mode, there is no voltage present on the gate, and the device is therefore unable to pass current from the source to the drain. This mode is mainly used as a safety measure to ensure that the device is not damaged by excessive current draw.The second mode is the On mode. In this mode, the applied gate voltage is greater than the threshold voltage, and the device is able to pass current from the source to the drain. This mode is mainly used to control the flow of current in the application, such as in the control of a power switch.The third mode is the Depletion mode. In this mode, the device acts as a resistor, limiting the current draw between the source and the drain. This mode is mainly used to limit the current draw in cases where excess current may damage the device. APT39F60J MOSFETs are widely used due to their low on-state resistance and fast switching speed. This makes them ideal for use in numerous switching power supply and DC-DC converter systems.
