EGP10CE-E3/54 is a single phase bridge rectifier diode with a nominal current rating of 10A and a peak repetetive reverse voltage (VRRM) of up to 1000V. It is designed especially for use in applications such as TV receivers, white goods and a variety of standard power supplies.

Applications

EGP10CE-E3/54 is an ideal choice for a range of AC rectification and power conditioning applications. Working Principle

The working principle of a single phase bridge rectifier is based on the PN junction diode. The diode can allow current to pass in only one direction, so when it is connected across an AC input source, the diode will only allow current to flow either from the negative side of the source to the positive terminal, or the reverse. Therefore, the voltage applied to the PN junction must alternate between the forward and reverse voltage polarities for proper operation.

In a single phase bridge circuit, four(4) PN junction diodes are connected in the form of a bridge. This bridge allows current to pass from the input AC source to the load, with the proper current flow depending on the AC waveform polarity. This allows the bridge to rectify the AC voltage into a DC voltage, which is then supplied to the load.
