PEMD2,115 Discrete Semiconductor Products

PEMD2,115 are pre-biased, bipolar junction transistors (BJT) arrays included in the series of Darlington arrays which have been developed by STMicroelectronics. This series of arrays allows the user to quickly and reliably switch on any of the four NPN or PNP Darlington transistors.

Application Field

The PEMD2,115 arrays have several applications mainly in wide range of industrial and automotive control circuits. These devices are typically used for solenoid and motor driving, RFI suppression, and other general switching applications. They are also used in lamps power switching, regulator protection, and audio power applications.

Working Principle

The PEMD2,115 arrays are based on a four-channel, complementary silicon Darlington transistor array. Each of the four channels, two PNP and two NPN, is internally connected in a Darlington circuit, resulting in low switching thresholds. This combination of low current and low voltage allows the array to be used in high-current, low voltage applications.

In addition to its unique turn-on / turn-off capabilities, the device\'s high-voltage, high-current Darlington array also provides increased protection against false triggering and reverse voltage protection. Power dissipation is minimized through the use of integrated, high-side current limiting.
