It is a non-volatile Flash Memory with 512 Megabits (64 Megabytes) densities and interface of 32-bit multiplexed address/data bus architecture. It is one of the most reliable memory devices with high reliability and endurance.The S29GL512N11TFI020 is widely used in a variety of applications such as embedded systems, point of sale, smart cards, medical imaging, industrial control, automotive, automotive infotainment systems and many more.This memory device has a number of advanced features like high-performance read and program operations, enhanced data protection, low-power consumption, security options, enhanced write operations, fast erase operation and increased speeds. It is capable of writing and erasing data in blocks of 512 bits at a time.In addition, S29GL512N11TFI020 is designed to take care of data integrity and data security. It is designed for long-term endurance and reliability with extended temperature range support. It has a number of other features like Write Protection, hardware error correction and ECC features.Working Principle:The S29GL512N11TFI020 is based on the world’s most popular memory technology – NOR Flash Memory. NOR flash memory allows instant access to data, i.e., it can both read and write data immediately after it is powered. While NAND flash memory writes data in blocks, NOR flash memory writes data in single pieces. Same as in NAND Flash Memory, the S29GL512N11TFI020 also has flash memory cells, which store data and keep it even after power failure.The S29GL512N11TFI020 has a controller that provides data translation and buffering services and also helps in error correction. It also has a number of other features such as advanced error detection and correction, data security, and durability.The data is stored in the flash in the form of a charge on a floating gate of an insulated gate device. To write to a flash memory cell, a voltage is applied across the floating gate and the source of the charge, the data can then be stored in the gate. To erase the stored data, a Stronger voltage is applied to erase any stored information.The S29GL512N11TFI020 is available in both standard and extended temperature range versions.
