The TIP35CG is a PNP type bipolar junction transistor (BJT) made of Silicon material. It is a high voltage, high-current transistor commonly used in power applications. The TIP35CG is uniquely suited for power switching applications, audio amplifiers, video switching circuits, as well as linear amplification as required in Class AB, Class A or Class B audio or video amplifiers.

The TIP35CG is a silicon epitaxial-base PNP transistor with a maximum current gain of 39. It has a maximum collector-emitter saturation voltage of 1.8V at an Ic of 8A. The TIP35CG has an operating collector current range of 10mA to 25A at a collector-emitter voltage of 250V and above. It is mechanically and thermally stable up to a collector-emitter voltage of 250V. The TIP35CG also has a good pair matching for high-performance applications.

The working principle of the TIP35CG is similar to that of other BJT transistors. It consists of 3 layers of semiconductor material which act as two p-n junctions. It has a base, collector and emitter. When a small current is applied to the base, a large current is allowed to flow between the collector and emitter. This is known as the current amplification factor (β) or modified current gain (hFE). The hFE value of the TIP35CG is typically between 39 and 45 at a collector-emitter voltage of 10V.
