AOD454A has a V_GS(th) (Gate-source voltage threshold) of around 4V, meaning that it needs a voltage of at least 4V at its gate pin to turn it on. It has a low on-resistance of approximately 8Ω and a drain-source breakdown voltage of about 20V. It is a common-source device, meaning the current flow depends on the voltage at the gate and no current flows through the gate.

The working principle of AOD454A is quite simple.
