AON2405 is one of the most highly integrated, low-voltage power field-effect transistors (FETs). It is available in a three-lead, surface-mount micro3 package. This low-cost, off-the-shelf part is versatile and effective for many applications. It provides a wide array of features and benefits, including low on-resistance, high-temperature solderability, and low gate-drive current, that make it suitable for a variety of consumer and industrial applications.
The AON2405 is a single, low-voltage, P-channel power MOSFET, with a maximum drain source voltage (VDS) of 30V. It is designed for low switching-loss and high-temperature operation, and is suitable for use in consumer electronics, communications, power supply, and motor drive applications. The maximum on-resistance (RDS(on)) is typically 8 milliohms, and the junction-to-case thermal resistance is 0.3°C/W. The AON2405 works by plugging onto the gate power of a switching device. The gate power is sourced from the power supply that is connected to the drain of the AON2405. When the AON2405 is turned on, a channel is formed between the drain and the source, and a current flow is enabled in the form of an alternating signal. This charging and discharging process is known as "drain-source conduction", or the "MOSFET switch".
When the gate is driven with a high signal, the AON2405 operates with constant on-resistance and fast switching speeds. It can offer protection against over-current protection, fast rise/fall times, low power dissipation, and is capable of working at temperatures of up to 175°C. The AON2405 has an input capacitance that increases by less than 0.2nF over its operating temperature range. Additionally, the device has an output capacitance that is stable over its temperature range, a maximum gate charge of 1.3 nC, and a drain-source breakdown voltage of 30V.
