AON6418 is a N-Channel Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET) specifically useful in the field of power electronics. It is utilized to create power circuits that feature a low gate threshold voltage, high transconductance and low drain-to-source on-resistance over a variety of operating temperatures. AON6418 features a three-terminal gate, drain and source and a main gate structure.The drain and source are connected to the source terminal of power supply and the N-channel, while the gate is connected to the main gate structure. The gate of AON6418 is made up of a N-channel region, an oxide layer and the gate terminal. The N-channel region serves as the semiconductor charge carrier. The oxide layer is the barrier between the gate terminal and the N-channel region, and electric field generated by the gate terminal can control the charge carriers that pass through the oxide layer.The working principle of AON6418 can be understood by dividing it into two parts: the main gate structure and the N-channel region. In the main gate structure, the applied gate voltage can attract or repel current-carrying electrons depending on the voltage polarity, thus controlling the channel current. Meanwhile, in the N-channel region, the electric field can modulate the current because it is sensitive to voltage.
