AON7400 is a high-voltage, low-power, low-superimposed, low-gain, low-capacitance, single-channel, logic-level enhancement-mode MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) device. The AON7400 is specifically designed to be driven with very low voltage while offering high-current load switching capability. It has a widely range of application in both commercial and industrial systems.

The AON7400 application field includes power management of devices in consumer electronics and general-purpose industrial circuitry such as power switch for 12V and 5V in car, high-side switch for white LED, line voltage (110VAC) switch control, level shifter circuit, low voltage control signal switch, motor control, and signal line protection. The AON7400 switch is also used as a load switch and driver transistor in communications equipment.

The working principle of AON7400 can be described in terms of its gate-source voltages. When gate-source voltage (VGS) is applied to the gate of the transistor, a threshold voltage VTH is required to turn the transistor ON. For AON7400, VTH is typically 2V. When the gate-source voltage exceeds VTH, the device will turn on and allow current to flow from source to drain. The drain-source saturation voltage (VDSsat) of the AON7400 is typically from 0.45V to 0.60V.

For off-state, the drain-source voltage (VDSoff) of the AON7400 is typically 1V or less. When the gate-source voltage (VGS) is less than VTH, the device turns off and no current flows from source to drain. The gate capacitance of AON7400 is low and is typically 11nF. This feature allows for a high switching speed for the AON7400.

In addition to its low voltage drive capability, the AON7400 also has high power-on resistance and low power-off resistance. The power-on resistance (RON) is only 0.25Ω and the power-off resistance (ROFF) is less than 0.065Ω. This combination allows the AON7400 to efficiently switch loads with minimal power consumption with high accuracy and low input offsets.
