STGW19NC60HD is a triangular double side open Intelligent Power Module (IPM) optimized for low frequency switching applications such as home appliances, office machines, light industrial & commercial applications and further electrical equipment.

This device consists of embedded high voltage MOSFET & IGBT and all necessary components such as anti-parallel diodes, desaturation detection circuits, under voltage lockout, current limitation and thermal shutdown. This module also includes a compatible PFC control IC. All these components are encapsulated at one device. One main advantage of this device is its low loss, fast switching speed and low temperature heating characteristics.

The application field of STGW19NC60HD mainly lies in the field of motor control, AC servo motor control, inverter and general AC motor control drive. It is suitable for various power conditions from 500V to 800V and its junction temperature range from -25℃ to 150℃.

The STGW19NC60HD module is designed with IGBT power transistor technology featuring built-in anti-parallel free-wheel diodes, desaturation protection, under-voltage lockout protection, current limit protection and thermal protection.

The principle of IGBTs is based on a three-layer structure of semi-insulating materials, gate oxide and a thin N-type emitter layer. When the gate voltage is increased, it injects minority carriers into the layer and changes its electrical characteristics. As a result, it creates an electrical bridge of N-channel between its two main terminals, the emitter and collector, allowing the current to flow between them.

When the gate voltage is removed, its thin N-channel is blocked, thus immediately turning off the IGBT element. The fast switching speed of the IGBT module helps to maintain the performance of the applied circuit, reduce power loss in the circuit, and maintain high efficiency.
