APT1002RBNG Application Field and Working Principle
APT1002RBNG is a high power density cell series of N-channel Enhancement Mode Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET). It is designed for packages TO-220, SOT-223, TO-263, and DFN2010-6. Working Principle
APT1002RBNG is an enhancement mode MOSFET. It is N-channel operating with low on-state resistance RDS(ON), which provides high power density in both DC and AC circuits without compromising the signal integrity.
An enhancement mode MOSFET works with the gate voltage being positive. When the voltage on the gate is higher than the voltage on the source, the barrier for electrons is lowered and a channel is formed. Thus, current can flow from the drain to the source as long as the channel remains in an energetically favorable state. This is known as the "on-state" of a MOSFET.
The APT1002RBNG is a special type of MOSFET, it has a low drain-source on-resistance (RDS(ON)). This means that less current is required to be able to switch on the MOSFET and so allows more current to be drained before the MOSFET saturates.
APT1002RBNG also has a low gate charge, which is important when considering high frequency operation. The low gate charge reduces the increase in power dissipation as frequency increases. It also enables higher frequency operation so that the MOSFET can be switched faster.
Additionally, APT1002RBNG has fast switching speed, which enables the MOSFETs to switch faster during high frequency operation. This fast switching speed reduces power dissipation and can reduce EMI and RFI noise.
