The FDW2507N is an array of eight single MOSFET (or Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) channels in a TO-220 package. It provides superior reliability, operating temperature of up to 125°C, and protection against drain-to-source voltage spikes at system power up or power down. Developed by Fairchild Semiconductor, this device is pin compatible with over 50 different manufacturers and allows designers to reduce their part count while meeting the highest reliability requirements.

The FDW2507N is suitable for motor control and other high power applications. It is a great choice for applications where high breakdown voltage and low on-resistance is required. These features make it a perfect choice for motor control applications such as automotive seat adjustment, cooling fans and air conditioners, and other high power applications.

The FDW2507N features a very low RDS(On) down to 55mΩ, ultra low gate charge of 9nC, and fast switching speeds of up to 10A/μs. This high performance combination, along with its low on-resistance, makes it ideal for efficient and reliable power delivery, high reliability and high power density. Additionally, the device offers excellent thermal stability with its integrated thermal shutdown protection and high temperature operation of up to 125°C.

The FDW2507N can be used in both voltage and current mode configurations. In voltage mode, the device is typically connected as a switch. It is connected between the output and ground and provides a regulated output to the load, which is then controlled by the drain-source voltage. In current mode, the device can be used either as a synchronous or asynchronous switch. In synchronous configuration, the device is used in series with an inductor to regulate the inductor current by switching off the load current when a preset value has been reached. In asynchronous configuration, the device is used as a voltage-controlled switch, which allows the load to regulate itself by controlling the gate voltage. This configuration also provides a high level of protection against overcurrent and over voltage.
