IGBTs (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) are a special type of transistor that combines the best features of MOSFETs and bipolar junction transistors. The most prominent feature of IGBTs is their ability to combine the high input impedance and low on-resistance of MOSFETs with the high current carrying capacity of BJTs.
