Working Principle

Active Mode: In the Active mode, the Collector-Base junction is forward biased and there is current flow through the transistor. The current is proportionate to the voltage applied to the base.
Saturation Mode: In the Saturation mode, the Collector-Base junction is forward biased and the current flow is maximized. This is because the voltage between base and collector is equal to the base voltage being applied.
