AO3406L_104, also known as AUTOMOTIVE MOSFET, is exclusively developed for automotive electronic and system applications. The working principle of the AO3406L_104 can be explained by using the band diagram shown below. When a voltage is applied to the gate terminal, it triggers a potential which attracts the carriers in the channel region, causing it to become conducting or "on". The current will then flow from the drain to the source terminal, allowing current to pass from the source to the drain. This state is known as an "on" state and results in a low resistance between the source and drain, allowing the current to pass easily. In addition, when the voltage applied to the gate terminal is less than the threshold voltage, the device will turn "off" and the current will no longer pass from the source to the drain.
AO3406L_104 is built using an N-Channel MOSFET, with an on-resistance rate extrinsically of 15A at 10V.
