AON6520 is a highly integrated silicon technology chip, mainly used in power systems, communication systems and other industrial applications. It can be integrated into a single micro-system, significantly reducing system cost and size. AON6520 is a Field Effect Transistor (FET) with a Single Gate Configuration, also known as an Enhancement-Mode FET (eFET). eFETs are switch devices which require an external bias force to control the flow of current from the source to the drain. With a single-gate eFET, the current flow is determined by the voltage bias on the gate terminal. When the gate voltage is higher than the source voltage, current flows from the source to the drain. When the gate voltage is lower than the source voltage, the device is in an off state.
The main function of AON 6520 is to convert the input voltage into a fixed output voltage. The chip works by using two parts: a voltage regulator and a voltage switch. The voltage regulator is a linear regulator which constantly monitors the input voltage and reduces it to the fixed output voltage. The voltage switch is a MOSFET which is turned on and off depending on the voltage present at the gate terminal. The output of the voltage regulator is passed to the gate of the MOSFET, and if the regulator detects the output voltage is too high, the voltage switch is turned off and the output voltage is reduced.
AON 6520’s maximum switching frequency is 3 MHz and the maximum drain-source voltage is 45V. The chip has a built-in precision voltage regulator with an accuracy of ±3%.
