IRF3415STRR is a single N-Channel Field Effect Transistor (FET) designed to minimize on-state resistance and to provide superior switching performance for low voltage and high speed applications. It is designed for power switching applications such as switched mode power supplies, motor control circuits and other similar applications. It is also used in high current and low voltage applications that require enhanced switching and efficient power dissipation.
The IRF3415STRR features an integrated P-Channel and N-Channel FETs which offer superior on-state resistance when compared to other single FETs. The feature of integrated FETs is that they reduce the need for external components and connection wires, which in turn decreases the size of the device. In addition, the IRF3415STRR has an enhanced ESD rating of up to 4KV.
The IRF3415STRR uses an asymmetric N-Channel MOSFET technology to provide improved on-state resistance over conventional FETs. In other words, when a voltage is applied to the gate, the on-state resistance decreases significantly as compared to a N-Channel FET that does not use asymmetric technology. This allows for higher current switching capability and faster switching times as compared to a standard N-Channel FET.
The IRF3415STRR works on the principle of majority carrier injection. When the voltage on the gate is greater than the voltage applied to the drain, the majority carriers, or the electrons, are attracted to the gate and transferred to the drain. This reduces the device to a normally on state, meaning the FET is switched on. As the voltage between the drain voltage and the gate voltage decreases, the amount of current is increased and the device is switched off.
The IRF3415STRR is capable of handling up to 60 volts and is capable of quickly switching up to 40Amps. This makes it suitable for applications that require high current and low voltage. The device also features integrated ESD protection, making it ideal for applications that require enhanced protection against ESD.
