The MMBF5462 is a voltage-controlled source follower Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET). It is commonly used for high-speed, high-impedance switching applications. This device is made up of a silicon substrate and has a structure of three terminal channels, two of which are for the source and drain and one for the gate. It is part of a large family of devices known as FETs (field-effect transistors).

The main advantage of the MMBF5462 over its predecessors is its low On-resistance and low Threshold Voltage. The low On-resistance of this device makes it ideal for controlling higher current operations, while the low Threshold Voltage keeps power dissipation to a minimum.
