The BSC052N03LSATMA1 is a single-device enhancement-type MOSFET chip that finds a variety of uses in power electronics, especially for DC-DC power converters. The feature set of this chip is built to offer high performance and low on-resistance along with the fast switching capabilities desired by most users.

The construction of the BSC052N03LSATMA1 includes a vertical N-channel MOSFET, built on a silicon substrate. The transistor is configured in an "enhancement-type" structure, which requires the gate-to-source voltage to be greater than the threshold voltage in order to achieve conduction. In most MOSFETs, the threshold voltage is negative due to the body effect, but the BSC052N03LSATMA1 chip is special in that it has an inherently elevated positive threshold voltage of 3.3V, enabling easy switching by logic-level control devices.

The BSC052N03LSATMA1 offers a low maximum on-resistance of 0.40ohm, along with guaranteed maximum drain-source breakdown voltage of 100V. The on-resistance, gate charge, and gate capacitance values are all specified under specific conditions; the gate charge can reach up 48nC when maximum voltage is applied to the gate. The total gate charge is specified with temperature coefficient of 0.2%/degC.

The BSC052N03LSATMA1 is also designed to offer low total gate charge, low gate-to-source capacitance and fast switching speed. The switching time specified in the datasheet is 60nS, which makes this chip well-suited for high-power switching applications.
