FDMS2380 is a fully integrated power distribution switch, load driver and power management integrated circuit. It is an extremely versatile high-performance IC that can easily adapt to numerous power system architectures. FDMS2380 supports a wide range of platform applications, such as cellular phones and tablet PCs.

APPLICATION FIELD:
The FDMS2380 PMIC can be used in various kinds of applications, ranging from cellular phones to tablet PCs. It can enable integrated power management solutions for a wide range of industrial, automotive and consumer end equipment. Because of its many features and broad voltage range, it is suitable for battery-powered devices that require high dynamic performance for efficient and reliable power system management.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
The FDMS2380 PMIC consists of three different power domains, four general-purpose channels, a Power Good signal, an I2C interface and four GPIOs. It features dedicated power distribution switches that allow for sensible sequencing and sequencing of multiple power rails. Users can configure and drive channels in order to reduce leakage current and minimize total system power consumption by regulating output voltage and controlling logic levels. Different power-down and power-up sequence registers can be set accordingly, as well as the timing of each mode. Furthermore, the FDMS2380 offers intelligent control of power drivers with the power-on reset signal and the GPIOs, which can be configured for various configurations and sequences with enhanced software control. In addition, all of the internal registers, power state, and power mode can be changed by using the I2C bus.
The FDMS2380 PMIC also has safety and protection features including overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent protection, along with a Power Good signal. By using the power-on reset signal and the GPIOs, FDMS2380 can be programmed to provide additional security features and error detection in order to protect the system from any potential damaging events. The FDMS2380 also features intelligent power-down and wake up modes that allow for seamingless power management, and makes it the ideal power management solution for any embedded system.
