FDP8880 is an enhancement-mode power MOSFET which uses advanced high cell density trench technology to provide excellent RDS(ON), low gate charge and operation with low gate voltages. It has the advantages of high efficiency, extremely low noise and distortion and high current capability in a very compact footprint. FDP8880 is suitable for many demanding applications including consumer, automotive and industrial.

The primary application field of FDP8880 is DC/DC converter. It is ideal for synchronous/resonant DC/DC converter as well as buck converter and other power MOSFET applications. In addition to these, FDP8880 can be used in DC/AC applications, voltage regulator modules, SMPS, AC/DC converters, etc.

The operation principle of FDP8880 is simple. It consists of two terminals: source and drain. It works when a voltage is applied to the drain, creating an electric field in the form of an electric field, which draws electrons from the source to the drain. This is called channel formation. When channel is created, current can then flow between the source and the drain. By controlling the voltage on the gates, the strength of the electric field and thus the current flow between the source and the drain can be regulated.
