AO4474 is a high performance enhancement-mode power field-effect transistor (FET). It can deliver higher current and low on-resistance with The 3 X 2.45mm package. The AO4474 is advanced power MOSFET technology and deliver powerful performance in ultra-small package.
Application Field:
The AO4474 can be used in a wide range of applications equivalent to SOT-23, SOT-223 or Dpak with higher power rating and smaller size. Due to its high current and low on-resistance, AO4474 is typically used in DC/DC converters, motor drivers, power management and battery management systems. With its small size, AO4474 is particularly suitable for portable and handheld applications, including cellular phones and personal digital assistants (PDA).
Working Principle:
The AO4474 uses a vertical DMOS Topology structure, consisting of a drain, a source, a gate and an internal body diode. When the gate voltage is greater than the threshold voltage, the AO4474 will turn on, the electric current can travel from the drain to the source. On the contrary, when the gate voltage is less than the threshold voltage, the AO4474 will remain turn off and the electric current can not flow from from the drain to the source. The on resistance will be determined by the gate voltage, drain current and temperature. By controlling the gate voltage, AO4474 can be used as a switch to control the output current.
