AO4476A is a type of single N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) with a drain current of -24A and a threshold voltage of 1.9V. It is manufactured by Alpha and Omega Semiconductor, a leader in power semiconductors and sub-systems. The company says this MOSFET is designed for high-performance drive applications, such as high-current switching and motor control.
Application Field
AO4476A is generally used for applications requiring high drain current such as power switching, battery charging, load switching, DC-DC conversion, motor control and so on. This MOSFET enables a high-performance drive of up to 24A. It has an ultra-low RDS(on) of 75mΩ, which helps to reduce power losses and preserve power efficiency. The low threshold voltage ensures an excellent switching capability. By manipulating the gate voltage the current flow through the MOSFET can be controlled. It also has a maximum Drain-Source breakdown voltage of 60V.
Working Principle
MOSFETs are transistors that are primarily used to control current. This type of transistor works by controlling the flow of current between the source and the drain. A MOSFET has three terminals, the source, the drain, and the gate. When the gate of the MOSFET is given a positive voltage, current starts flowing through the transistor towards the drain. This is called the “on” state. The amount of current that flows through the transistor is dependent on the gate voltage. When the gate voltage is increased, more current flows through the transistor. If the gate voltage is decreased, less current flows through the transistor. When the gate is brought back to 0V, the current stops flowing and the transistor is said to be in the “off” state.
The AO4476A MOSFET has a very low RDS(on), which means that when it is in the “on” state, the resistance between the source and the drain is very low. This results in less power loss and higher efficiency. Additionally, the low threshold voltage allows the MOSFET to be switched on and off much more quickly than other types of transistors. This makes the AO4476A an ideal choice for applications that require high-speed switching.
In summary, AO4476A is a single N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET with a drain current of 24A and a threshold voltage of 1.9V. It is primarily used for applications that require high drain current such as power switching, battery charging, load switching, DC-DC conversion and motor control. It has an ultra-low RDS(on) and a low threshold voltage, making it ideal for high-speed switching applications.
