AUIRFR9024N application field and working principle

Ascolutely AUIRFR9024N is a kind of MOSFET transistor. It is one type of high voltage and high current N-channel MOSFET which assembled in TO-220 package. This is also a logic level MOSFET, which means fit for working at low voltage, around 5V.

The packed and series of AUIRFR9024N configured in the package is including two MOSFETs and a schottky diode. This can mainly be used in ATM switching power and LCD drive, like in Buck converter.

Working principle:

A MOSFET, an abbreviation of Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-effect Transistor, consists of a source, a body, a drain and a gate. The source is connected with the body and output is taken from its drain.

The working principle of AUIRFR9024N is based on the behavior as a conducting channel between source and drain with low resistance. When the gate is been laid with a low voltage, this channel will be created and then drain current can flow through the channel.

In order to control the current flow between the source and drain, the voltage should be applied between the gate and source. If the potential of gate is higher than the source, the channel will be shorted and strong depletion of the channel will occur.

AUIRFR9024N also features real-time power loss detection. It has an additional connection pin known as Drain Rotation, which can be used for a remote output for load current detection, motor speed detection and ambient light sensors to monitor the power status.
