The RN2903-I/RM095 is a module widely used in different kinds of RF transceiver applications and systems. It combines a LoRaWAN Class A/C long-range modem with a high-performance RF transceiver, facilitating RF communication ranging up to 15 km with the support of a variety of modulation settings. It also supports Over-The-Air Activation (OTAA) to provide secure connection with the communication network.
This RF Transceiver Module is suitable for various applications, such as metering, tracking, smart grid, environmental monitoring, asset monitoring, and industrial automation, etc. It is highly integrated, needs low power consumption, with multi-frequency band support. This device can be interfaced with an MCU via UART, SPI, Analog, or Digital IO pins. A wide range of frequencies are available; different types of antenna can be chosen according to the application requirements.
The working principle of the RN2903-I/RM095 is based on the LoRaWAN protocol, which is a low-power long-range wireless communication protocol developed by Semtech Corporation. By using frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology, it increases the transmission range and improves the communication reliability. The RN2903-I/RM095 sends data to and from a remote LoRaWAN Base Station. It supports several modulation settings in order to minimize the power consumption, increase the data rate, and optimize the communication range.
Unlike traditional WiFi modules, which rely on classic radio (802.11) or low-power (Bluetooth) protocols, the RN2903-I/RM095 is compatible with long-range low-power protocols such as LoRaWAN.
