The SI7661CSA+T is an Improved Green, and energy efficient, PMIC - DC-DC Switching Regulator. It is a DC-DC converter that includes two regulated output channels and is used to provide regulated output voltages in applications where power efficiency, need to eliminate noise and output current limited interfacing. This device can be used in applications such as notebook computers, battery chargers, mobile phone power supplies, industrial power supplies, PDA’s and embedded working field. The SI7661CSA+T features adjustable output voltages from 3.2 V to 5.5 V with a Programmable On/Off Ramp Rate of up to 5mV/step. An open drain enable pin can be used to shut down the power supply, saving up to 5mV. Programmable Sync Frequency allows for greater efficiency when operation at maximum load, as well as improved noise control. The device is based on a buck regulator topology, where a switch connects to the input voltage and regulates the output voltage. The output of the buck regulator is connected to the load, while the current source and voltage divider are connected to the resistance of the load and the feedback voltage pin. The voltage divider sets the output voltage while the current source sets the output current. The buck regulator works by using the input voltage to control the switch, which in turn is used to convert the input voltage into the desired output voltage. When the input voltage is greater than the output voltage, the switch is closed and current flows through the power stages, thereby converting the input voltage into the output voltage.The control circuit measures the feedback voltage, and compares it to the desired output voltage. If the output voltage is lower than what is desired, the control circuit continues to close the switch until the output voltage is equal to the desirous voltage. Once the switch is closed, the control circuit opens the switch and prevents current from flowing, effectively maintaining the desired output voltage.The SI7661CSA+T is a high-efficiency switch mode power converter that can have an input voltage range from 3V – 35V, and an output voltage range from 3.2V – 5.5V. It is based on a standard buck regulator topology, meaning that the output voltage is regulated with PWM modulation. In addition to its energy efficiency, the SI7661CSA+T has integrated protection features including over-current protection, over-voltage protection, temperature protection, and reverse current protection. Overall, the SI7661CSA+T is a high efficiency DC-DC switching power converter, capable of providing a regulated output voltage over a broad input range. Its adjustable output voltage range and fast switching frequency makes it suitable for a variety of applications, from mobile phones to industrial power supplies.
