FMDS3668S is a high current, high speed, intergrated circuit (IC) of power MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) array. This IC is mainly used in analog and digital switching applications, such as power supplies, motor control, battery protection, lighting control and so on. It has a wide range of applications such as home appliances, industrial machinery, automotive, defense and aerospace.Working principleThe FMDS3668S is an array of N-channel MOSFETs. The primary purpose of this IC is to enable high-current switching operations without the need of external transistors. It offers superior logic compatibility with respect to traditional circuits and provides excellent current handling capabilities. It has a maximum voltage rating of 33V and a maximum current rating of 6.5A. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C.Each of the MOSFETs in the FMDS3668S array is coupled to an output pin with two drains, a source and two gates. All the MOSFETs in the array are driven by the logic input signals and their outputs can be used to drive external loads. The MOSFETs as well as the external loads are connected to the output pins by the small on-chip shunts.The results of the logic control signals and the voltage and current control values are used to control the FMDS3668S. In the case of inverting logic, the logic signals are inverted and the resulting signals control the MOSFETs. When the logic signals are enabled, the MOSFETs are switched on and the current flows through the path of least resistance to the output pins.Therefore, when a logic signal is enabled, the FMDS3668S operates as a switch and allows the current to flow through.
