NTD5862N-1G is a highly integrated Power Management IC, specifically designed for DC/DC conversion of battery powered applications. It employs the latest in Power-Up/Down technology and can be used in a variety of applications. The NTD5862N is suitable for low-voltage and low-power applications such as mobile phones, PDAs, and portable data systems.
The NTD5862N features a high-performance power and logic control. The design includes two separate power channels for fast and efficient supply control. The first power channel, referred to as the MOD power channel, is the main switching channel for the device. It includes latched and regulated synchronous MOSFETs with adjustable speed, voltage and current range. The second power channel, referred to as the VOUT power channel, is used to supply the output voltage. This channel can be used to adjust the output voltage or provide current limiting capability.
The NTD5862N also includes an integrated Solar Control Input (SCI) which allows external control of DC/DC converter input voltage. This allows the device to quickly and easily tune the output voltage of the converter accurately across a wide input voltage range. The SCI input also allows the device to detect when the battery voltage is low and circuits for immediate response in order to safely transition off of battery power. This helps to ensure that the connected circuits do not power up and consume all of the battery capacity.
