Field-effect transistors (FETs) are three-terminal semiconductor devices that can be used in a variety of applications, including amplifier design and digital logic circuits. FETs are further divided into two categories: junction FETs (JFETs) and metal-oxide-semiconductor FETs (MOSFETs). Of these, the most commonly used type of FET is the MOSFET. AO4455 is a special type of MOSFET, known as a “ depletion-mode MOSFET.”

Depletion-mode MOSFETs are unsurpassed in their ability to provide high-impedance paths to signals with low voltage drops. These types of MOSFETs are well suited for applications where high-resistance paths are needed between a signal source and a load. The AO4455 depletion-mode MOSFET is commonly used in these applications, due to its high-impedance gate, low voltage drop, and low on-resistance. The working principle of the AO4455 depletion-mode MOSFET is similar to that of other MOSFETs. By adjusting the bias voltage, the device can be shifted between these two regions.
