FCPF16N60 is a Field-Effect Transistor (FET) of the N-Channel Enhancement Type that operates in depletion mode. It is unipolar, as it only passes majority carriers.It is suitable for a wide range of uses, from switching large currents and high voltage to providing low-noise amplification and active filtering. This FET has a minimum gate-source breakdown voltage of -60V and can support a range of drain and source currents between 10mA and 60A, making it suitable for a wide range of applications and conditions.
The FET kinds of transistors are unipolar (contain only one type of charge carrier) devices crafted of three terminals: the gate, drain, and source. These transistors are active elements, meaning they can be switched on and off by controlling the gate-to-source voltage. An electric field is created between the drain and source terminals when a voltage is applied to the gate. This electric field controls the flow of current through the channel of carriers beneath the gate. Depending on the kind of FET, either electrons or holes will be able to pass through the channel, allowing current to go from the source terminal to the drain terminal.
