The FDMC8032L is a p-channel VDMOS (Vertical Double Diffused Metal Oxide Semiconductor) transistor array that provides a higher maximum drain current (12 A) with a low Ron (2.2 Ω) than conventional transistors. This transistor array is designed for use in power applications such as power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and motor drive circuits. It is also ideal for a variety of other applications, including millimeter-wave sources, high brightness LED back lighting, RF amplifiers, memory buffers, and high voltage power supplies.
The FDMC8032L is the most powerful directly operated p-channel VDMOS transistor array available today. It features an ultra-low Rds on (2.2 Ω) and a maximum drain current of 12A. This makes it ideal for high current applications, such as power MOSFETs, IGBTs, and motor drives. Its low on-state resistance also makes it an excellent choice for high efficiency applications.
The FDMC8032L utilizes a vertical double-diffused metal oxide semiconductor process to achieve its low Ron and high current capability. The device has an integrated Gate, Source, and Drain (GSD) structure and is built with a P-channel vertical VDMOS transistor in a vertically integrated array. This array structure results in a lower on-state resistance, higher maximum drain current and lower voltage drop than traditional MOSFETs. The FDMC8032L features an integrated DMOS ESD protection, allowing it to safely handle voltages up to 15V and protect itself from ESD damage.
To control the flow of current in an electronic circuit, the FDMC8032L employs a gate-source-drain structure that allows the user to control the currents of the transistor by applying a voltage to the gate. The gate-source-drain structure acts as an electrical switch, which when opened allows current to pass through the source and drain terminals. By applying a voltage at the gate, the user can close the electrical switch, thereby controlling the current flowing through the source and drain terminals.
The FDMC8032L also utilizes DMOS (Double-Metal Oxide Semiconductor) technology, which allows the user to drive a higher current than traditional MOSFETs. This technology is based on the principle that the resistance of a metal-oxide junction is lower than that of a pure silicon junction. This lower resistance allows for a higher current handling capability, making the FDMC8032L ideal for applications that require high current capabilities.
