An FDMS7678 Field Effect Transistor (FET) is a type of transistor, consisting of a source, drain and gate, that utilizes an electric field to control the conductivity of a channel between the source and the drain. The FET works by the gate controlling the access of the source to the drain, allowing current to flow or stopping the current flow depending on the voltage applied to the gate.
The FET, specifically an FDMS7678, is considered a Single mosfet transistor, meaning that it is built out of a single layer of silicon and etched onto a substrate, usually of gallium arsenide.
