IRF7809A is a single-pole-polarity N-channel MOSFET transistor, and is best suited for applications in power electronics. Featuring IGBT-level performance, low on-state resistance, and low gate charge allowing for significantly improved dynamic response and reduced switching power losses. It is also rated for high-speed switching applications, with a very low gate threshold voltage for fast switching operation.
The IRF7809A is manufactured using Toshiba\'s proprietary, low-on-resitance and low-threshold V-MOSVII-H process, resulting in high-performance transistors with the ability to handle larger gate voltages and gate currents, higher gate charge values and improved performance in ESD and thermal conditions.
The IRF7809A has outstanding high-speed switching characteristics. It has a high-current capability and is capable of withstanding peak and in-rush currents up to 50A, with a low on-state resistance of typically 10 milliohm allowing for improved signal transfer. With its high current and low on-state resistance, it is capable of carrying high currents while maintaining low operational temperatures and low power dissipation.
The IRF7809A also offers excellent turn-on and turn-off times, with a turn-on time of less than 10nsec and turn-off time of 40nsec. This makes it particularly suitable for high frequency and high-speed power applications, such as DC/DC converters, motor controllers and other power systems applications. The turn-on and turn-off times are also improved by the added benefit of high performance ESD protection, preventing any damage to the transistor in the event of electrostatic discharge.
The IRF7809A also has an extremely low gate threshold voltage, typically 2.5V, which allows for improved high-speed switching capability and reduces switching losses for a wide range of applications. The low gate threshold voltage also implies that the transistor can handle high levels of current without compromising its operation.
In addition to its excellent performance, the IRF7809A also offers low parasitic capacitance values, allowing for improved signal frequency response and reduced noise. The low parasitic capacitance also enables the transistor to withstand up to 10A of peak current and 10A of reverse current with a low negative floor current. This makes the IRF7809A an ideal choice for applications requiring high frequency switching, like switching power supplies.
