Working Principle
The IXTQ230N085T is a vertical-channel power MOSFET and it is based on the working principle of a field-effect transistor. When the gate voltage is increased, the structure is reversed and a thin layer of an insulator (oxide) is generated between the gate and the substrate. When the gate voltage exceeds a certain level, the channel is formed and current flows through the channel. The drain-source current of the device is determined by the gate voltage, the current flowing through the device and the structure of the channel.
