The STL16N65M2 is a N-channel enhancement-mode Power MOSFET. It is a type of transistor that can be used to control power flow in an electric circuit. In this unit there is a MOSFET transistor inside a TO-220 package. It is a normally-off device so it will stay OFF until a voltage is applied to turn it ON.
