The IRFS4615PBF is a 55V, 32A (RDS (on)) is an advanced HEXFET® power MOSFET from International Rectifier. Working Principle:
The IRFS4615PBF utilizes advanced trench technology to minimize on-state resistance (RDS (on)). Due to its low gate charge and fast switching capabilities, this device is ideal for applications where low losses and fast switching transitions are desired. It has an ultra-low on-state resistance and fast switching performance that can lower switching losses and increase overall efficiency.
The IRFS4615PBF operates by transferring electrons between the source and the drain through the channel formed by the gate. When a voltage is applied to the gate, a voltage-driven electric field is formed in the channel. This field results in an increase in the number of electrons at the bottom of the channel. As the voltage increases, the number of electrons in the channel also increases, resulting in an increase in the current flowing through the channel.
This device is constructed of a single N-type MOSFET with a gate, source, and drain. The gate terminal is used to control the current flow between the source and drain, while the source and drain are used to provide the necessary current flow between the two terminals. When the voltage applied to the gate is increased, more electrons enter the channel, increasing the current and resulting in a higher drain current.
The IRFS4615PBF offers excellent switching characteristics with low gate charge and fast switching ability. It has a maximum current rating of 32A and a drain source on-state resistance of 0.87mΩ, which is designed to minimize on-state resistance, allowing for high efficiency applications with low losses.
In addition, the device features an enhanced asymmetrical gate-source description with improved output power, allowing for higher switching speeds and higher efficiency when compared to traditional MOSFETs. The device also includes an input protection structure which helps provide improved switching performance and robustness.
