2SK3816-DL-1EX Application Field and Working Principle
The 2SK3816-DL-1EX is a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) single-device chip. It combines a number of unique features to create a robust and reliable system: It enables higher current carrying capacity and lower on-state resistance while also providing excellent ESD protection and low operation time. This technology’s application fields include boosted switching, battery protection, analog and digital circuits, ACS, LED lighting, and motor control.
The chip\'s working principle revolves around the idea of the field effect, where the electric field within a material (usually SiO2) surrounding the MOSFET reduces the resistance of the underlying conducting channels of the silicon substrate. At low voltages, the chip operates in no-load mode, where it has a low on-state resistance and does not consume any current other than the leakage current. This mode is useful when low current applications require only a very low switching power. At high voltages, the chip operates in load mode where the electric field strengthens, increasing the flow of electrons through the device, thus increasing its power consumption.
The chip can also be used as a high-side switch, which means that it can control the on/off state of high voltage devices such as motors and lights.
