CSD15380F3T is a high-performance insulated gate field effect transistor (IGFET) from the N-Channel PowerTrench low-side family. It is optimized for low RDS\'s(on) and low-oil integrated power RDS (on). With its wide Vgs range, it is suitable for high-side and low-side driving solutions. This device is widely used in automotive load switch, motor drive, AC switch, appliance switch and other power applications.
This device is designed with a highly optimized PowerTrench process. It has very low on-resistance and low voltage drive. It can support both 5V and 12V high potential applications. It has a peak Drain-Source voltage rating of 60V with a maximum continuous Drain-Source voltage up to 55V. It also provides excellent reversed avalanche energy capability at 175 mJ. Furthermore, it also provides a good level of gate-source protection with an ESD rating of HBM class 4.
Its application fields are automotive load switch, motor drive, AC switch, appliance switch and other power applications. In automotive, this device is ideal for power management, starting in DC-DC converters, and battery protection. In motor drive applications, this device can be used for soft start, speed control, and current control. Additionally, it is utilized for the power supply switch of A/C inverters, Power tools and home appliance switches.
The working principle of CSD15380F3T is based on four-part structure of transistor. It consists of a gate, a drain, a source, and a substrate. When a voltage is applied to the gate, this voltage attracts electrons and forms a conducting channel between the drain and the source. This voltage, commonly referred to as the gate-to-source voltage, determines the current flow between the drain and the source. This current, known as the drain-to-source current, is proportional to the gate-to-source voltage. Therefore, current flow is controllable by adjusting the gate-to-source voltage.
