Working Principle of STB11NK40ZT4
STB11NK40ZT4 is an all-surface-mount type device with high performance P-channel power MOSFET. It consists of vertical Mos, Source and drain electrode, Gate region and Flange. The device works based on the principle of carriers of majority carriers i.e electrons and holes, which are the two types of electrical charge carriers that flow through the device. When an external electric field is established between the source and the drain terminal, electrons are attracted by the electric field to the drain region while holes are attracted to the source region. When a voltage is applied to the gate terminal, the electric field changes so that few electrons and holes will pass through the channels between the drain and the source regions. As the electrons and holes drift from the drain to the source, an electric current flows from the drain to the source.
STB11NK40ZT4 is excellent for high frequency switching applications due to the reduction in charge carriers movement. The extracted charge carriers are quickly replenished minimizing switching power losses. The device is designed for high-speed and low-loss Switching Applications with minimal on conduction loss.
