Working Principle

BSS138W E6433 is a MOSFET (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor FET) transistor. It is composed of a substrate made of silicon, which is heavily doped with N-type (negative charge) impurities. When a positive voltage is applied to the gate electrode, it leads to an increase in the number of electrons in the channel between the source and drain, which results in an increase in current between the two terminals. Conversely, when a negative voltage is applied to the gate electrode, electrons are depleted from the channel, resulting in a decrease in current between the two terminals. This is known as the "depletion mode" of operation. BSS138W E6433 can also operate in the "enhancement mode", in which the gate voltage controls the concentration of electrons in the channel instead of depleting them.
