The FDMC86240 is an advanced Power MOSFET. It is designed to replace the more outdated lower voltage device offerings in the market and to offer superior performance for applications such as synchronous rectification and LLC resonant converters. It is a 500 V, 6.9 mΩ logic N-MOSFET with a drain current of 100 A. It features low RDS(on) and fast switching speeds making it ideal for a wide range of general purpose and power applications in both AC to DC and DC to DC converters.

Working Principle:
Power MOSFETs, such as the FDMC86240, control the flow of power in electronic circuits. They are composed of many thin layers of semiconductor material, usually composed of silicon and silicon dioxide. They have a very low voltage drop and can switch from an ON to an OFF state quickly, so they are ideal for controlling large amounts of power.
In a basic MOSFET, a voltage signal is applied to the gate which creates an electric field between the gate and the source electrode, known as the “channel”.
