NTD4804N-35G Application Field and Working PrincipleThe NTD4804N-35G is a high performance MOSFET ( Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor ) designed for use in DC - DC converters, high speed switching applications, as well as motor control circuits. This particular MOSFET is designed with a superior gate Performance-to-Size ratio and a very low on-resistance, which makes it the ideal part for high frequency power conversion and low RDS( on ) applications.In general, MOSFETs are preferential to traditional bipolar transistors because of their better breakdown voltage, higher current density, faster switching times and lower cost to fabricate. This is especially true in power conversion applications where MOSFETs are necessary in order to achieve the desired device efficiency, as well as more sophisticated control schemes.A MOSFET is an element used to control current flow between two points; typically, this includes an input (gate) voltage and an output (source) voltage. It works by having an electric field applied to the gate, which in turn controls the current flow through the MOSFET. When the input voltage is equal to or greater than the threshold voltage of the MOSFET, the MOSFET is turned "on" and current is allowed to pass through it. In contrast, when the voltage at the gate is lower than the threshold voltage, the MOSFET is turned "off" and no current is allowed to pass.The NTD4804N-35G MOSFET is ideal for applications such as DC - DC converters, switched mode power supplies and motor controllers, as it has excellent gate performance-to-size ratio and low on-resistance. This MOSFET is also capable of operating at up to 20V and with current ratings of up to 20mA (depending on application). The NTD4804N-35G MOSFET is a versatile device which is well suited for a variety of applications.
