A FET, or Field Effect Transistor, is a voltage-controlled device composed of a source and two gates. The IRFU6215 is a 1,200V P-Channel Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor FET (MOSFET) designed specifically for automotive and industrial applications. It is a dual-shuttle MOSFET with advanced current-limiting and temperature-stabilizing features that provide improved protection against over-temperature and over-current conditions.

When an external voltage is applied between the gate and the source, it creates an electric field across the depletion layer (channel) between the source and the drain.
