IXFR20N80Q is one of the MOSFETs (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors) that is kind of single type transistors. It belongs to the group of transistors – FETs (field effect transistors) and MOSFETs (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors). MOSFETs as its name suggests are the field effect transistors manufactured using the technique of Metal Oxide Semiconductor. It is mainly known as a voltage controlled switch rather than a current controlled switch as the gate voltage controls the current flows through the channel. The input voltage is connected to the gate, turning it on and off by controlling source–drain current.

The device has the capability to maintain a low gate sensitivity which is the aim for any efficient device. It provides accurate linear characteristics which helps make it stable and the switching time is minimized due to its low input voltage (VGS) control.

IXFR20N80Q is also ideal for multiple audio amplifier circuits, class-D and class-AB amplifiers as it has low capacitance values, resulting in high-quality sound output. In addition, IXFR20N80Q is ideal for DC–DC converters and USB power delivery.
