The FDD8880 MOSFET is a fast switching and low-noise dual N-channel enhancement mode power MOSFET with a small footprint and high current carrying capacity. It is designed for a wide range of applications including power supplies, small signal amplifiers, power switching, DC-DC converters, and high frequency circuits. In general, FETs use electric fields to control the behaviour of the current flow between terminals. A MOSFET is a type of field-effect transistor (FET) which uses the electric field of a gate electrode to control the conductive channel between its source and drain. A single FDD8880 MOSFET consists of two N-type enhancement mode power MOSFETs in a dual monolithic structure. This allows it to share a single gate control and reduce the overall footprint while increasing the current carrying capacity. The working principle of the FDD8880 MOSFET is based on its gate to source voltage (Vgs) and drain to source voltage (Vds) characteristics. When the gate to source voltage is above the threshold voltage of the device, it turns on and the drain to source voltage will start to increase in proportion to the gate to source voltage. As the drain to source voltage increases to its maximum level, it will cause an increase in the current flowing through the device.

When the gate to source voltage drops below the threshold voltage, the device will turn off and the current flowing through the device will decrease. This allows the FDD8880 MOSFET to be used for switching and controlling devices and circuits.
